The Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS) is the UK's statutory fund of last resort for customers of authorised financial services firms. We can pay compensation if a firm is unable, or likely to be unable, to pay claims against it. In general this is when a firm has stopped trading, and has insufficient assets to meet claims, or is in insolvency. The service is free to consumers.

Motor Insurers Bureau
The Motor Insurers’ Bureau aims to reduce the level and impact of uninsured driving. Our claims handling experts manage more than 30,000 claims every year for accidents involving uninsured vehicles and seek to settle the claims fairly and promptly. We manage the Motor Insurance Database (MID) which is the central record of more than 34 million insured vehicles in the UK. The MID is used by the police to identify and seize vehicles being driven without insurance.
